Zimbabwe – a land of opportunity
A journey through Zimbabwe offers opportunities not only to experience wildlife and culture, but also the remarkable diversity of landscapes found across this vast country. Historical sites from the Rhodesia era and earlier are well worth visiting—not least to understand the prehistory that led to Rhodesia becoming Zimbabwe and the role of Mugabe in shaping the nation’s trajectory. From Cecil Rhodes’ grave in the Matopos to Lake Kariba—the ‘man-made lake’ created by damming the river for hydroelectric development—travelers gain a clear sense of the transformations that took place during the 1950s and 1960s. Changes that at times made Zimbabwe a ‘prosperous country,’ but which, due to poor governance, ultimately led to economic collapse.
Amid this historical journey, one finds a country rich in people, culture, landscapes, and wildlife—striving once again to rise and rebuild. Our way of contributing is to encourage as many of our guests as possible to visit Zimbabwe, thereby bringing much-needed foreign currency into the country. This is vital for the authorities, as the local currency has limited value, creating significant import challenges.
A journey from Matopos, via Hwange, to Lake Kariba, and ending with days at Victoria Falls, is an experience you will never forget—and one that is truly unique in Africa. Along the way, you will encounter high standards, excellent service, breathtaking sunsets, extraordinary wildlife, and—most importantly—people who believe in a better Zimbabwe and radiate energy, warmth, and optimism.
